Bonjour de Paris
July 13, 2011 – 10:41 am
Bonjour!
Our travels to Paris last week were simply incredible. Arriving to picture perfect weather, beautiful long days and late dinners. From the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower all the magical sites of Paris were soaked up amongst seeing inspiring and amazing underwear and fashion concepts. Our first day saw a whirlwind visit of the fabulous french department stores, Le Bon Marche, Galeries La Fayette and Printemps. Visiting the lingerie floors of each store was like walking into a candy store, a wall of colours and a sea of divine french laces embelishing most of the lingerie.
Our early evening was spend soaking up the sun and people watching at the every amazing Les Deux Magots.
The following day was spent being inspired by the colourful food markets and flea markets at Place de la Bastille and Marche aux Puces at Paul Bert in Montmartre. Simply incredible and just so much fun.
Walking the streets of Saint Germain, Rue Saint Honour and the divine tree lined streets of Paris it’s easy to see why this place is the top of the list when it comes to design inspiration on all levels.
To finish off the Paris trip we met with a world renowned French designer, TOP SECRET at this point! We hope to be able to elaborate in the coming months but we are super excited.
We Go Nude In New York….well, Nearly Nude
July 11, 2011 – 10:27 am
Touching down in Manhattan again is almost making me feel like it’s quickly becoming my second home. Greeted by the beautiful staff at The Soho Grand our trip was full of of the fast paced New York action I always love.
This trip to New York was to create buzz around the soft launch of Nearly Nude Stateside to New York. We help a lovely event at Soho House for 60 guests, mainly media and buyers. Guests listened to DJ Sky Ferrera a well known NY DJ who just happens to be best friends with Solange Knowles (Beyone’s sister!!), love it! We revealed a few designs from our new THINVSIBLE range which hits the shores of Australia in September.
We had amazing feedback from media from the night which included Bloggers, Vogue US, In Style, New York Times, Lucky, Vanity Fair and many more.
We were lucky enough to dine at some of Manhanttan’s best restaurants, from Buddakhan to Minetta Tavern and Ciprian’s to Balthazar for yummy breakfasts and my new favourite Momofuku for their famous pork buns – Yummo! the tastiest thing I have ever eaten in my life. The highlight for food defnately went to Eatly, a stupendous and enourmous Italian food emporium that serves anything Italian that you can possibly imagine – I would like to get locked in there overnight!
Walking the streets of New York, looking at the latest trends in underwear and fashion and people watching in Bryant Park and Central Park I feel inspired to expand the Nearly Nude Collection….we have lots of exciting things in the pipelines and we look forward to entering the US market in a big way this Fall. We also look forward to bringing our exciting new collections to Australia.

Spending a few days in LA you can clearly see why this town brings out peoples dreams and a touch of glitz. I always love a visit to LA for a touch of Hollywood glamour, it’s unlike any other place in the US. Staying at The Chamberlain in West Hollywood we could clearly see why the eponymous Kelly Wearstler has made such a name for herself in the world of Interior Design. She has a magic touch and I think she is now about to launch her divine range of accessories which we can’t wait to get our hot little hands on.
We met up with our old Nearly Nuder, Maree from Sydney who now lives in LA, dined at some of the hottest new restaurants like Red O on Melrose avenue, Rick Bayless’ latest Mexican which serves up the best burritos you have ever tasted. Asia de Cuba at the Modrian is always amazing for Cuban inspired food, sitting outside looking over the Hollywood Hills was to die for.
Tried to do some celebrity spotting at the Ivy over lunch but no such luck that day! Finished the trip by meeting up with celebrity stylists and top secret Nearly Nude projects.
I’m in a New York State of Mind
April 4, 2011 – 1:41 pm
We wanted to share some of the highlights of our recent trip to New York with you. Over 5 days we raced from one end of Manhattan to the other seeing Fashion and Market Editors all over town. I met some of the most generous and kind people on my travels and learnt alot about doing business in the US. Factory PR were fabulous, I was ushered everywhere I went and I loved every minute of it.
The highlights of my trip were seeing the new Mondrian Hotel in Soho which only opened a few weeks ago….it has the most exquisite entrance and at twilight with fairy lights it was simply magical. The food at Balthazar, Morandi and Il Buco is always incredible and one of my all time fabourites Buddakan. So many places to visit and not enough time.
We got to preview the new ‘Lucky’ magazine
Kids edition and also meet over 20 amazing and influential New York bloggers….a whole new world to me …but a very exciting one.
I am looking forward to the next trip already.
The new THINVISIBLE collections are getting closer and we are getting VERY excited. We had amazing feedback from the fashion Editors in New York. Stay Tuned for more news on this fabulous new range launching in late July.
